Have ARAG Legal Insurance?
If your employer offers this benefit, you may already have a path to working with us covered — or largely covered. Here's how it works.
What Is ARAG?
ARAG is a legal insurance provider, often offered as a voluntary employee benefit — similar to how dental or vision coverage works. If your employer offers it (or you've purchased an individual plan), it can help cover the cost of legal services, including family law matters, when you work with a network attorney.
What This Does and Doesn't Cover
Network-attorney fees may be fully covered for many matters under ARAG plans, but this isn't universal — your specific plan, the type of matter, and any exclusions all affect what's actually covered. We can't confirm your coverage until you provide your plan information, and neither can you without checking directly with ARAG or your plan documents.
One more thing worth knowing upfront: ARAG coverage applies to legal representation and services — it does not apply to digital products, like our downloadable guides and workbooks.
What to Have Ready
Having this information ready at intake speeds up verification significantly:
- Your ARAG member ID
- Your case confirmation number (if you've already contacted ARAG about this matter)
- Your employer or plan name
- The covered person's name
- The general type of matter (divorce, custody, etc.)
Don't have a case confirmation number yet? That's okay — start the process below, and our team can help guide you through what ARAG needs from you.
Start Your ARAG Family Law Assessment
Every new matter starts with a full conflict check, and everything you share with us is kept in a secure, encrypted client file. Bringing your ARAG information to intake lets our team verify your available benefits before representation begins.
Common Questions
Does having ARAG guarantee my fees are covered?
No — coverage depends on your specific plan and the matter type. We verify this with you during intake, not before.
What if I'm not sure whether I have ARAG coverage?
Check your employer's benefits portal, or ask HR — legal insurance is often included without people realizing it. You can also start the assessment below and we'll help you figure it out.
Does this cover the digital workbooks and guides on your site?
No — ARAG coverage applies to legal representation and services, not digital product purchases.
What if ARAG doesn't cover my situation?
We'll let you know plainly, and walk you through our other service options — flat fees, phased fees, limited-scope help, or legal aid resources if private representation isn't a fit right now.
